Team Meeting before racing.

Team Meeting before racing.

The 2009 Queensland Sailing Team is performing well at Sail Sydney. There are mobs of young Queenslanders taking over the rigging lawn and Woollahra Sailing Club all in their QST shirts with the controversial logo. It is a great site to see and is making the other states jealous of our team environment. After two days and 5 or 6 races the young team is achieving solid results. The first day of sailing consisted of 8-12 knots ENE with big shifts as the wind came across the heads, the second day saw 10-15 knots NE and all Queenslanders responded to the nicer breeze by achieving more good results.

Everybody involved in the Queensland Sailing Team is happy with how their results are shaping up and hoping to back up on positive results from Sail Brisbane. It is clear that the hard work and dedication the sailors have made over the year with heavy training and competition loads is now paying off and all is looking good for the team’s peak at nationals and youth nationals later this month and early January.

Keep checking the Yachting Queensland’s news website for team updates and results.
