Classes invited to compete in this year’s Sail Mooloolaba are International Contenders (SEQ Championship), 505s, Sharpies, A Class, Lasers. Sabres, Sabots, 420s, SB3s, Etchells, Blazers, Trailer Sailers, 30′ footers (25′ to 35′ loa), Farr 30s, Farr 40s, open keel boat division and open multihull division. |

Open water competition - great for training !

Mooloolaba is one of the few harbours in Australia to offer quick, easy access to the ocean. It is only a short distance to sail from the marinas/dinghy launch area to the clear water competition area.
Competitors are assured of a friendly welcome in a town full of accommodation and entertainment choices. |

420s – About eight 420s filled with young sailors from Brisbane will be travelling north for Sail Mooloolaba 2010.

Moths – Three Moth (foilers), two from Yeppon and one from Lake Cootharaba are planning to compete this year. The locals are planning to use Sail Mooloolaba as a part of their World Championship training program. |

SB3s- Rod Jones reports at least nine SB3s will be competing in the event this year. First to enter is Owen Muyt with his crew of Max Marian and Geoff Wilson.

Contenders – The South East Queensland Contender Championship is expected to attract a fleet of between 12 and 15 boats hailing from Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast. |

Etchells – The Etchells are on their way – from Brisbane, Hong Kong in addition to local fleet members. Up to 10 boats are expected. Entries have been received from Chris Hampton (Melbourne) and David Turton (Mooloolaba). Other entries indicating they plan to compete are Mark Thornburrow (Hong Kong), Nev Willis and Mark Dagge (Brisbane).

Sabots – Yeppon, Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast will be represented in the expected fleet of 12 Sabots.

Lasers – Full rig, Radial and 4.7s youth and senior sailors from the Sunshine Coast and Brisbane will be contesting the event. The first two entries in the 4.7s go to James Scott and Ryan Wilson. |

International 505s – Hailing from Brisbane, the 505s during April this year utilised the offshore waters of Mooloolaba to train. Eight boats are expected for Sail Mooloolaba. This will be a great event for those of the fleet working their way towards competing in the World Championship in Denmark in July. |

Sharpies – Five Sharpies from Yeppon, Brisbane and Lake Cootharaba are expected. |

Keel Boats - first boat entered in the 25′ to 25′ loa is the MYC’s Brilliant Pearl, a 34.7 Beneteau. Between 10 and 15 boats are expected for this divison.
