Community spirit is alive and well as local businesses unite to put on a Family Fun Day for Camp Quality children and this Saturday 12th February.
Camp Quality is the children’s family cancer charity that believes in building resilience in the lives of every child living with cancer and their family in Australia. We create an optimistic community for their families through fun therapy and education. We believe laughter is the best medicine.
Local businesses and supporters including the Noosa Yacht & Rowing Club, Phippsy’s Smooth Water Fishing Charters and Potato Gelato are all contributing to make the day a success.
Camp Quality families affected by cancer will be treated to a morning of fun and laughter at Noosa Yacht & Rowing Club, Gympie Terrace, Noosaville from 9:30am – 12pm. Families will have the opportunity to learn how to sail, participate in Phippsy’s ‘learn to fish’ clinics, have their faces painted and enjoy a scrumptious BBQ lunch and gelato.
Paul Blundell, from the Noosa Yacht & Rowing Club who has been instrumental in organising the day said “It’s great to see local businesses give their time and products to put a smile on a child’s face. Despite the doom and gloom of the economy there are still so many giving people.”
Sailing in the fleet of 12 NYRC Vagabond 3.7m Sailing dinghies around 75 Camp Quality kids and their families will enjoy a sailing session with one of the Youthsail Junior instructors aboard.
Our Family Camps help families take time out from cancer. There’s a variety of activities for those who want an adventure. If adults need time out, there’s time to chat with other parents while the kids are engrossed in a supervised activity. New friendships are forged and everyone leaves with a more optimistic outlook! They are a ‘day off’ from cancer!
Camp Quality passionately believes in bringing optimism and happiness to the lives of children and families affected by cancer through fun therapy. We believe laughter is the best medicine.
